Dawn and Jason have been the husband and wife director team of Uskichitto Retreat Center since January 2004.  They have many passions, first and foremost their six children - Abigail, Andrew, Joshua, Matthew, Sarah & Elizabeth.  They enjoy the outdoors, especially visiting our beautiful National Parks whilst on vacation.  Dawn and Jason have more than 22 years combined experience in camp and retreat ministry.  They met eleven years ago at camp in Iowa, where Dawn grew up.  Jason came from England to be a summer counselor.  They served together on summer staff, and were married the following year.  Camp ministry is a passion they share, and two years later they were called into full time year-round camp and retreat ministry.  Dawn and Jason served in United Methodist camp ministry in Iowa for four years before answering a call to move to Louisiana to continue sharing the good news of Jesus Christ at camp.  They are excited to serve God through Christian hospitality and the opportunity to share His love with hundreds of youth every summer!

Sarah is a young woman with many gifts, and is a blessing to the camp ministry.  She has worked at URC as a member of our Summer Staff team for four summers, and as our year-round ministry assistant for 3 years.  When you visit URC you may see Sarah driving the tractor, mowing, serving a meal, facilitating a Ropes Course session or working in the office.  If you’ve phoned the camp recently she has probably taken your call. She is a valuable part of the ministry, and always demonstrates a positive example of servanthood and hospitality!
