Matt and Sharon are excited to step into the role of "husband and wife director team" at Uskichitto Retreat Center. Matt and Sharon met at URC while working as summer staff in the summer of 2004.  Matt proposed in the dining hall in the summer of 2005, and they were married the following spring.  Matt has worked as the assistant director at a Methodist conference camp in Mississippi since the fall of 2007.  Sharon has been a homemaker for their family, spending precious moments with their daughter Anneliese.  The Shaws have committed their lives to camping ministry and the Acts 2:42 model of community and discipleship: 

"They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.  And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." 

Together the Shaws are excited to begin this new chapter of their lives at Uskichitto Retreat Center. 

Sarah is a young woman with many gifts, and is a blessing to the camp ministry.  She has worked at URC as a member of our Summer Staff team for six summers, and as our year-round ministry assistant for 5 years.  When you visit URC you may see Sarah driving the tractor, mowing, serving a meal, facilitating a Ropes Course session or working in the office.  If you’ve phoned the camp recently she has probably taken your call.  She is a valuable part of the ministry, and always demonstrates a positive example of servanthood and hospitality!
